How And Where Kunzite Is Formed 

Ranging in colour from pale pink to violet, kunzite is a variety of the mineral Spodumene. One of its identifying features is an optical phenomenon known as pleochroism, which causes the crystal's colour to intensify when it is viewed at certain angles.

Named after the famous jeweller who identified it, George Frederick Kunz, kunzite was only discovered just over 100 years ago making it one of the youngest gems on the market. First discovered in the USA, most of today’s kunzite is mined in Brazil, Afghanistan, and Madagascar.
